Yao Lu is a Baltimore-based audio engineer, native of China. She has engineered numerous music event recordings, experienced various music genres from opera, full orchestra, chamber orchestra, jazz orchestra to solo recitals and studio sessions. Her recording won 129th AES Student Recording Competition (Stereo-Classical) First place award in San Francisco, 2010.
Yao is currently pursuing her MA degree in Audio Sciences at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. Her study includes music production, acoustics, and AV system design.
Yao got her BA in Recoding Arts at Communication University in China, and acquired techniques of music recording and sound production for TV shows and movies. She was also working as an assistant associate under Dr. Xin Wang focusing on music acoustic research projects.
Yao is also a violin player. She had been concertmaster of Golden Sail Symphony Orchestra for 5 years, and co-operated with such musicians as En Shao, Feili Huang, Wing Ho, Tianwa Yang, Jin Ju, etc..
